The Diamond Devils (2-0) beat the Canons (1-1) 11-8 on Sunday, in a rain shortened game at Bobby Thompson field that featured multiple stoppages due to the weather.

On a sunny but incredibly windy afternoon in Edinburgh, the Devils and Giants clashed for the first time in 2013 season.

Confidence was high among the devils as they had a formidable match day squad, the Giants however were missing a couple of key players so would need to play to best to cause an upset here.

Glasgow narrowly lost out in an unpredictable game which ended up going right to the wire at Tollcross Park. GBA started strongly with pitcher Daryn McCulloch retiring the side in order, while the bottom of the first saw Glasgow take a 3-0 lead on runs scored by Francis Takino, Michael McCusker and Albert Rodriguez. The Giants went down 1-2-3 again but Glasgow also failed to score with a runner in scoring position picked off.

The Edinburgh Cannons finally got to begin their defence of the Scottish National League Crown in Glasgow today, squeaking through a tense and thrilling game that no team really dominated. Edinburgh's day would be typified by rusty swings and missed opportunities while a scrappy GBA team who played well and clawed their way back in during the final innings would run out of steam in extra innings.
