Granite City Oilers Drop Home Opener in Back-And-Forth Affair Against Glasgow Galaxy

Even though the Oilers and Galaxy both had their opportunities, it was the Galaxy that eventually prevailed 15-10 on Sunday. The game was tied at nine going into the 9th inning but John Tafe would single, driving in two runs, and putting the Galaxy ahead for good.

Despite the loss, the Oilers collected 14 hits on the day in this high-scoring affair. Unfortunately for the Oilers, the Galaxy got 16 hits on their way to victory.

With the Devils losing their first two games of the season it seemed that the kings of Scottish baseball had been toppled, sparking a 6 way scrap for supremacy. With all the teams looking evenly matched this year it was all to play for, as in a game of throws, you win or you pop fly.
