Game write up:

The Devils took to the road again this week to take on the Comets knowing that they would to sweep to keep up with the Galaxy atop the standings.
Game1 started well for the Devils as Sylvain would set the standard early with a lead off double. However, they didn’t have it all there way as the next two outs were recorded on a slick 6-4-3 double play. However, the Devils were able to take advantage of some walks and timely 2 RBI singles by Bret and James would put 4 runs on the board early.
In the bottom of the inning however, the Comets struck back immediately taking advantage of a couple of infield errors to tie the game up of Devils starter Bret. Having seen this, Bret decided to take matters into his own hand in the 2nd inning, striking out the side.
In the bottom of the third the Comets would again take advantage of some uncharacteristic mistakes by the Devils to score a further 3 runs to take a 7-4 lead. But the lead didn’t last long as the Devils would tie the game up in the 4th with the Devils top of the order loading the bases with no outs to be then driven in by Tristram and Bret.
In the 5th the Devils finally got the bats going as they recorded 7 hits in the inning including a 2 RBI double by Greg, sending 13 men to the plate, they would blow this game wide open scoring 9 runs.
The Comets looked again to respond immediately, loading the bases with one out. However, Bret was able to induce an inning ending 1-2-3 double play to end the threat.
The Devils would show no mercy in the 6th and tacked on another 4 runs including another 2 RBIs for right fielder Greg before Tristram came in to shut down the Comets to end the game early via the mercy rule.
