Game write up:

The travelling Oilers came to wet and windy Glasgow for a double header against top of the table Glasgow Galaxy with a much anticipated Luke Powell Vs Stephen Evans but unfortunately an injury to Stephen limited his involvement to Designated Hitting for the Oilers.

The injury meant Lass Kobani took the mound against the Galaxy but it did not start well as he walked Elvis Grinys and Albert Rodriguez singled batting Elvis in with Albert also making it past home plate to score. The inning closed out with Jim Sehar flying out to the Centre Field, Luis Harvey popping up for to the First Baseman and Jason Stott grounding out. Galaxy 2-0
The second inning did not go well for the Galaxy with no further scoring as Luke Powell popped up to the pitcher, Paul Houston hit a line drive to the Short-stop and Ally Hay grounded out. Galaxy 2-0
The third inning started with a walk to Andy Sweeney but two pop ups and a fly out left him on base. Galaxy 2-0
As the forth inning started the Galaxy became a lot more patient at the plate as Jason and Luke walked and Housto knocked in Jason with a fielder’s choice play. Ally Hay flew out to the Short-stop to round out the inning.
It was the fifth inning when the Galaxy really started to show their patience at the plate. Andy lead off with another walk, followed by a single by Elvis but an attempted double play only managed to send Elvis back to the bench as Albert made it to first in time. A pitching change by the Oilers gave the visitors a new hope but it wasn’t enough as walks to Scott Shannon, Jason and Luke scored Andy, Albert and Jim. The inning was closed out with a strikeout to Housto and a ground out to Ally. Galaxy 6-1
The sixth and final inning allowed the Galaxy to extend their lead with another walk to Andy, Elvis reached first on a fielders choice play to ground out Andy, a walk to Albert followed by a single by Jim scored Elvis and Albert, walks to Scott and Jason swiftly followed before Luke popped up. An error by the Oilers defence allowed Scott and Jason to score on hits by Housto and Chris Young.
